KAZAST is the only specialized university in Kazakhstan and the main supplier of coaching and teaching staff in physical culture, sports and tourism. The Academy provides a range of educational services, using updated educational programs, conducts applied and fundamental scientific research, and provides scientific and methodological support for the preparation of national teams of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the Olympic Games and other world championships. The system of innovative development of education involves training in the process of creating new knowledge based on scientific research, technological equipment of the university, the creation of a modern material and technical base. Improving the quality of education is associated with the creative work of a teacher, his dedication, which is determined by his working conditions and social well-being. The level of scientific and professional training of a teacher, the professional orientation of training are the core in the system of training a specialist. KAZAST's activities are aimed at solving urgent problems and priority tasks. Training in the educational programs of "PCS": 6B01401, 7M01401, 8D01401 is carried out in accordance with the state license No. 827 KZ15LAA00017585 dated December 24, 2019.The history of KAZAST (formerly the Kazakh Institute of Physical Culture), one of the oldest educational institutions in Kazakhstan, begins on November 14, 1944 and is closely connected with the formation and development of our state. To date, the academy has made the greatest contribution to the training of pedagogical, coaching and scientific personnel who ensure the widespread introduction of physical culture and sports into the life of multinational Kazakhstan. Over the years of the academy's activity, more than 30,000 highly qualified specialists in physical culture and sports have been trained, including about 4,000 masters of sports and masters of sports of international class, more than 100 world champions, 550 honored coaches of the USSR and Kazakhstan, more than 200 doctors and candidates of sciences, honored teachers and excellent students of national education. According to the results of the General Rating, KAZAST is among the 20 leading universities in the country and occupies a leading place among humanitarian and economic universities. The staff of the Academy sets high goals and objectives to ensure the competitiveness of educational services in accordance with the developed development strategy of the university. Many students, and now graduates of KAZAST, took part in the Olympic Games of different years, won medals of various denominations. The pride of the academy is its graduates – champions and prize-winners of the Olympic Games: Anatoly Kolesov (Greco-Roman wrestling); Daulet Turlykhanov (Greco-Roman wrestling); Viktor Mineev (modern pentathlon); Nelly Kim (gymnastics); Olga Krivosheyeva (volleyball); Vladimir Novikov (gymnastics); Evgeny Yarovenko (football); Vitaly Savin (athletics); Olga Shishigina (athletics); Ermakhan Ibraimov (boxing); Bakhtiar Artayev (boxing); Ilya Ilyin (weightlifting); Olga Rypakova( athletics); Denis Ten (figure skating) and many others. On July 2, 2015, in the South Korean city of Gwangju, the International University Sports Federation (FISU) presented KAZAST with the "Best University" award.
