The Kazakh-American Free University is the first private university of international partnership with the United States. It was opened in 1994 and it has modern material and technical facilities and highly qualified faculty members. The First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N.A. Nazarbaev, being the first "Honorary Professor" of the university, took part in the solemn ceremonies of its opening and delivery of diplomas to the first graduates. Mission: training of leaders of the 21st century for the benefit of sovereign Kazakhstan. The university model includes three programs: American, Kazakh, and multilingual. Within the framework of the American program, we train bachelors and graduates in the field of management, law, information systems, and a foreign language, graduates, Ph.D. with the assistance of the Board of Trustees and the organization "Co-Serve International" (USA). Education on the American program is conducted in English with the involvement of graduates from the USA, Canada, Europe, and Australia The university is among the first in the Republic that: • passed international accreditation by ACBSP (USA) and national institutional and specialized accreditation (IQAA); • began training personnel with knowledge of the English language Priorities: • Foreign partners’ participation in the educational process - lecturers of universities from the USA, Canada, Europe, Australia, Singapore, Germany (annually more than 40). • In-depth study of the English language (in 1-to-1 interaction with native speakers) and computer technology, as proved by two certificates (in addition to the diploma). • Kazakh and American training programs • Internship in the USA, which has no analogs among the universities of the republic. The students, undergraduates, and doctoral students who have passed the competition get the opportunity to run their internship in the largest manufacturing companies, courts of all levels, leading banks, firms, small businesses in America in the cities of Portland, Seattle, Chicago, Edwensville, Austin, Washington, Hartford, etc. (in 7 US states). • The International Leadership Program, where future leaders of Kazakhstan undergo additional training under the mentorship of experienced education leaders, prominent specialists from the USA and Europe, completing it with an internship at the Leadership Academy (Portland, Oregon) and obtaining a certificate. The university annually provides more than 85% of the employment of graduates. We conduct training in 40 educational programs (bachelor's, master's, doctoral studies). Opportunity to study at the expense of state educational grants, grants from the local budget, a grant from the President of KAFU, a grant from foreign partners. There are 2 colleges in the structure of the university: the KAFU Higher College and the College of Economics and Finance. It has 6 buildings, including 3 educational buildings, a sports hall, a hostel, a hotel, the Sibiny training and production facilities.
