Almaty Technological University (ATU) has been present in the market of educational services since 1957, over the years of the university's existence, more than 50,000 people have graduated, who work in all corners of the Republic of Kazakhstan and foreign countries. The University trains highly qualified specialists in technical and economic specialties for food, processing and light industry, engineering and information technology, business, services and hospitality. The University today is a steadily developing university operating according to the worldwide multilevel model of higher education "bachelor - master - doctor PhD" and occupying leading positions in the National ranking of demand for universities in Kazakhstan and is among the TOP 200 universities according to the rating "QS Emerging Europe & Central Asia", actively integrating into the global educational space and becoming more and more recognizable in the world. ATU maintains contractual relations with more than 120 universities around the world. The University is a member of the International Association of Universities (IAU), the Oxford Academic Union, the International Student Exchange Association (IAESTE), the International ISEKI-Food Association (IFA), an individual associate member of the European Association of Universities (EAU), GIZ (German Society for International Cooperation). Currently, the university has 5 faculties, 19 departments, 14 of which are specialized, 3 research institutes with 8 problem research laboratories, 3 Technoparks for food and light industry and restaurant and hotel business. Specialists are trained in the state, Russian and English languages in 27 bachelors' degree programs, 25 masters' degree programs and 13 PhD doctoral programs. The contingent of teaching staff of the university is represented by doctors of sciences - 50 people, PhD doctors - 49, candidates of sciences - 136, masters - 170. The number of teaching staff includes 2 academicians and 2 corresponding members of the NAS RK, 12 academicians and 2 corresponding members of other academies, teaching staff with academic degrees and titles — 55.0%. The University is implementing a two-degree education program jointly with the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics (PRUE, Russia), the Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management (HTMi, Switzerland) and the European Institute of Design (IED, Italy). The university's infrastructure includes 3 academic buildings, 5 dormitories, a student service center, a large and small assembly halls, a scientific library, a hotel complex, 10 educational and scientific centers; a sewing workshop; an educational and production restaurant, a food factory, sports complexes, a medical center, a printing house.
