About HEI
The Kazakh-British Technical University is a higher educational institution founded in 2001 as a result of a signed Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the British Council. KBTU offers programs to both Kazakhstani and foreign students at 10 faculties at three levels of education (Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral Degrees), including the Faculty of Geology and Geological Exploration, the Faculty of Energy and Oil and Gas Industry, the Business School, the Faculty of Information Technology, etc. KBTU’s International School of Economics is the first and only school in Kazakhstan, which is officially affiliated with the University of London. All IT programs are accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET), “Finance” program is accredited by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), Master program in “Financial Analysis” is officially recognized by the CFA Institute, Business School programs are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). KBTU actively cooperates with various local and international companies to create joint laboratories, co-working centers and educational programs. Among them, the laboratory and co-working center "Halyk Academy", automation center by Honeywell, Bloomberg Financial Lab, Yandex Lyceum and a joint educational program in the direction of Data Science with Yandex, a laboratory with LLP RMK Systems, the laboratory base of the Academy of Network Technologies from Huawei, the laboratory base of FEOGI and FGGE equipped with JewelSuite licensed software from Baker Hughes, laboratory facilities of FEOGI and FGGE equipped with licensed tNavigator software from Rock Dynamics, and others. The knowledge gained during their studies allows students to be in demand among large employers. The KBTU Career and Alumni Center provides comprehensive support to students in acquiring leadership and socially significant skills to build a successful career in the future, creating an environment conducive to students and graduates to effectively plan their career trajectory and successfully fulfill themselves in their professional activities. With 94% employment rate, KBTU students work and do internships in companies such as Facebook, Total, Google, KazMunayGas, Eni, Tengizchevroil, Schlumberger, Shell, Chevron, KPMG and others.
