Having worked for more than 30 years in the educational system and in the leading universities of the country, having witnessed the transition of the Soviet education system to the Kazakh one, as well as witnessed the merger of the Almaty Road Institute (AADI) and the Almaty Institute of Railway Engineers (ALIIT) into the Kazakh Academy of Transport and Communications, the scientist realized that his favorite specialties may find a completely different focus and lose their former accuracy and consistency. Thus, in 1999, the L. B. Goncharov Kazakh Automobile and Road Institute (KazADI) was established (state license AB# 0142694). Having passed the way from Institute to Academy and back today L. B.
