Kokshetau

Kokshetau - is a city in Northern Kazakhstan, the administrative center of the Akmola region since 1999. Kokshetau is located on the shore of Lake Kopa, north of the Kokshetau hill, which surrounds the city from the south and west of the foothills. The population of the city is 174,096 people.

Kokshetau is one of the few places where you can see everything from the forest plains in the northeast to the peaks growing on the shores of the lake in the southwest of the city. Geographers call the landscapes "Kazakh Switzerland", recalling its landscape diversity.

The sights of the city include ancient monuments, squares, museums, theaters, Akmola Regional Philharmonic Society, Borovsky State Natural Park, etc.

The city has 3 universities with 301 foreign students.
