Rudny

Rudny - is a city on the Tobol River in the Kostanay region. In connection with the development of an iron ore deposit and the construction of the Sokolovo-Sarybai mining and processing plant, ore appeared in 1957. The climate is sharply continental. The population of the city is 111,990 people

Today, Rudny has become the largest industrial and cultural center of the Kostanay region. A number of light industry and industrial enterprises operate here.

In 2008, a mosque was opened in Rudny, and in January 2012, the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist was opened. In addition, the city has urban and architectural monuments, monuments to historical figures, archeological monuments and objects of historical and cultural heritage.
